Default MY01 vs GTO 04

My friend picked up his 04 GTO this weekend and after a round of 9 holes this evening we made two runs in the cars.

First Run:
Me Intake & Exhaust
Him stock

We went from 60 to 120 and he proceded to put 3.5 cars on me. I actually pulled a quarter of a car in 3rd and then he just started walking away all the way up to 120 where we cut it off.

Second Run:
Me Intake, Exhaust, 75 shot of Nitrous (bottle pressure was only 700psi though. I asked him if I needed to refill my bottle before we left and he said I shouldn't...)
Him stock

Same conditions we went from 60(both in third). I pulled a car length in 3rd, another half of a car in 4th and then we were dead even up to 130 where we cut it off.

Word to the wise, 04 GTO is no joke, an 05 probably would put a car or so on me even with the Nitrous!

We then went to the twisties for a few minutes and I put 6 cars on him in a matter of seconds. He's not used to the car so I told him to learn to drive it better, I'll have my bottle full and at the right psi and we'll run again. Hopefully with a camera.

I drove one at the dealership, no doubt in a straightline it's a monster. But it's just to damn heavy. 3725lb. ouch.

700psi is way too low in the bottle to be making the full 75 shot. Are you running a dry or wet kit? Also, do you have a bottle heater? Keeping it right around a 1000psi will give u the full shot ur looking for.

I agree I wasn't running the full 75 shot, probably more along the lines of a 45-55 shot. The kit is wet, which means I'm running rich on a low bottle pressure... better than lean

Unfortunately I don't have a bottle heater and the bottle was less than half full. I felt I could have put another car on him had I been at the correct psi.

I thought about getting a bottle heater but I live in Alabama where it is 80+ degrees 9 months out of the year. But it is looking like I'm gonna have to get one to make up for when the bottle is low. Such as the case the other day.
