I was heading to the gas station this morning after checking out the rides at Crystal Cove. I noticed a car shadowing and determined it was not a cop. I heard him kick it full throttle and the next traffic light changed causing him to haul it down to end up next to me. It was a '04 lowered Audi with big wheels and very wide tires. Nice sounding aftermarket exhaust and obviously he had souped it up.

The opposing light turned yellow and he brought his rpms up. The light changed and he smoked all his tires jumping me about 2 car lengths. At this point it dawned on me he wanted to go for it.

I gave it a spirited start and passed him topping out in third. He caught me as I shifted and I waved bye-bye and pulled him a couple lengths in 4th. I certainly was expecting to pull him more than 2 lengths in 4th so I shifted into fifth and waited for him. He caught up again and I waved bye-bye again and pulled about 4 lengths in 5th gear.

Get this, a couple miles up the road and we end up next to each other again. He rolls down his window and wants me to wait while he uncorks his NOS. He did confirm he is running aftermarket ignition and NOS.
I just laughed and said "you are going to need more than a 100 shot."

350hp (maybe 365 depending on exhaust) doesn't go very far with the weight of the car... The thing is quick... but my b5 TT still feels faster then the '04... Off the line however... he'd still own ya

 

i love those audi's ! they look cool no matter what....shame the redesign is much less pretty than the current ones
