Ran down a 93 SupraTT
Was driving home on a nice remote road last night, which happens to run a few miles between stoplights & intersections with nothing inbetween and very little traffic (aka perfect road for skirmishes) and a 93 SupraTT pulled up next to me at a light. I wasn't planning to play, but my exhaust is so loud that when the light changed and I went, the dude in the supra must have thought I was egging him on or something. Either way, he jumped on it and blew off his turbo as he zipped past me in 1st gear. I thought about it for a second and said to myself, sure why not... and nailed it to try to catch him.
Fat chance, i told myself, as he pulled on me in 2nd gear... he had the jump and a head start. But by the end of 3rd gear I was pulling on him, and passed him in 4th.
Just to be sure there was no question, I let off for a second, slowed down, and we went again from 3rd. This time I pulled quickly away.
We stopped at another (useless) red light, and chatted for a second. I asked if his car was stock (it was), if it was a 94 (it was a 93), and complimented him on the car. Told him turbo Supras were one of my favorite import cars. He enjoyed that, asked what size turbo my car had and was impressed when I told him it was a naturally aspirated V6, no turbo, but a high compression ratio 24V with ported heads and lots of high tech goodies. Anyways, good run, we both had fun, and good chat after.
I also realize that since his car was stock and 13 years old that it probably has boost leaks galore, and was probably not making the 300hp it's supposed to have. I'm sure a SupraTT in showroom running shape would probably walk me on a 3rd gear roll. But it was still a fun run.

IIRC you have a R32? is it stock? if it is the Supra definitely had boost leak...those things trap 106-109 from the factory i think...
good kill
i love R32's at WOT (i apologize in adavnce if you dont actually drive an r32 lol)

Nice run...Is it just me or are Supras getting slower? I mean a few years back it seemed they would stomp everyone, now you see quite a few Supra kills on different boards. I guess with all the new cars out etc...everyoone is catching up.

I think Spartikus has it right about boost + age. I fight that battle in my 16 year old Corrado constantly. They are getting slower, from boost leaks and other forced induction aging fun.

You should've bought a lottery ticket after that.
