Thumbs up raced an integra.

Last night was driving on the highway with my freind and the top down. I guess my freind made a gesture to an integra to race or something. So we took off from about 70 or so and raced to about 100. He started out just before me but he was fast. Was a race where each time someone shifted the other one would gain. Ran out of space and had to exit so didn't get to pull again. Looked pretty stock other than an exhaust for sure. What dopeople do to them to make them quick? I didn't hear a turbo or anything. Was surprised. All I have is a Spugen dual exhaust k&n fipk and vafc tune.

It could have been an LS/Vtec. A friend of mine did 194whp with intake, header and a 3" exhaust and tuning. Thats basically the same HP as a stock S2000 puts to the ground.

Ok not familiar with integras at all. Is that a stock engine? Didn't think any integras engines were really competition for an s2000. My first street race. Not a bug fan of it but thought I would give it a quick go.

nope, its taking a base ls,rs,or gs model integra engine b18b1 model non vtec and putting a b18c1(gsr) head on it. LS-VTEC (ls block-Vtec Head)

OK makes sense. And that makes more power than just a gsr engine would?

Yes. Depending on which head you use (which can be anything from a B16a2 head from a del sol to a b18c5 head from an integra type r) you can also raise the engines compression. However, run across an integra/civic with a full B18c5 or a k20a and you'll probably get murdered.

No FI and 3" exhaust...are you sure about that? A non turbo'd car will generally lose power with a 3" exhaust...

I was there when the car was dynoed. It was louder than a semi lol. The 3" exhaust is for when hes on the bottle.
