My friend has a tuned type r b18c5 from japan... putting down about 198.. he had over 200 but he wanted better midrange so he sacraficed..

Anyways, that car spanked me.. the car lengths just kept getting longer and longer..

All it was was a DC2 totally gutted... and that engine..

Could be a swapped motor or a built b18

Use to own a built b18c1 in my 95ex and would walk away from s2k's before

it got stolen, then i was forced to buy an s2000.

Thats the same with an S2000. When vtec hits, it shines. Except an S2000 has lots more power. So how is the GSR even close to it in acceleration? I know even the type r is not as fast.
no the change over (to vtec) on the gsr is WAY!!!! better than the s2000's.... if you dont wanna take my word for then dont....but im speaking from experience....like i said i currently own both cars.....

If your car gets that vtec 'kick' then you need a tune. VTEC should be a smooth transition. All the kick means is that your making so much less torque before vtec hits.

Try setting your vtec for your s2000 to about 7000. I GUARANTEE it will feel tons faster, but its really just because you have so much less power at 6900 on the low cam. Set it to about 5200-5600 and you will make the most power throughout the entire powerband but you will not have the vtec 'kick'.

And I too speak from experience, I had a type-r. Just as smooth as my s2k.

One of the lastest swaps a lot of the civic/integra guys are doing is a H2B swap. This is the H22 from a Prelude with a mounting kit to put a B-series trans with it to reduce 40lbs and get rid of the POS cable shifted tranny. Puts down around 200 at the wheels before any mods. Kind of interesting.

when i traded in my modded dc2(i/h/e act clutch/flywheel/cai) for the ap1, i felt i lost some straight line performance. that thing was FAST. but the S is sooo much more fun!

It was amazing how much you gained with just an 4-1 header/catback on that thing, you could easily gain 20-30hp with just the exhaust! wish we could have those huge results with the s2k...

That's why I'm keeping my DA. I want to do a K-Series swap eventually.
