i just got all the stuff i wanted done for right now on my car and i was cruising around and ran into this lowerd black lightning! we pull up to a light and the passenger yells out i love honda's (he has a silver s too)! so ask the driver what he has done and he says just a chip and its lowered. then i tell the passenger about the gears i just got put in (4.56) and suggested he look into them. So the light changes green and we roll off and get up to about 45 then i hit it first and put like 21/2 cars on him! then we line up again but a 50 mph and he honks and i pull a fender instantly and then another half a car in third! all in all it was a tight race and that thing would kill me off the line so i was happy! - tommy

Yea, those Lightnings can be badass modded. Heard one with a 2.6L Kenne Bell on it at the track, man that thing sound like an industrial size blender, and would annihalate more than its share.

Nice to see that the other guys were real cool. That makes for a good racing experience.

Thats a good kill, how much hp/tq are those lightnings supposed to have. I went up against one and was handed my first loss after owning my S.

The guy told me he dyno'd around 500hp and some huge torque number. The dyno is on a video I will have to find it. That made me feel a little better after that.

From a roll I would always get the jump then his supercharger screemed like a tie fighter from star wars as he flew ahead. At the time I only had intake and HKS.

 

I think they come with like 385 HP/ 450 TQ at the motor. Google it.

Like the 03 Cobra, a pulley swap, intercooler upgrades, and exhaust put them way up there. Good modability.

 

Lightnings are awesome! I really like them. And as stated, with simple ecu, and pullie mods, they make unreal amount's of horsepower gains. I believe around 430-450rwhp if I remember correctly, and with even more torque! My friend has an '03 L with just a chip and run's 13.5-13.6 @ 102-104 mph over at Moroso. All else is bone stock down to the rubber. Truely a beast of a motor waiting to be unleashed! If I ever wanted a truck with some pick up, that would be 1st on my list.
