Why doesn't the link for the video work? I want to see this claimed "race"?

Glad no unsuspecting pedestrians/drives/passengers got killed by yet another illegal street race.
Take it to the track boys.

If he beat you by only 2 cars then he beat you by 0.2 sec.
Since you run 15's the S2000 must be a 14.8 car which is very slow.
(either he's a bad driver or didn't try hard)

Realistic 1/4 time for S2000 is 14.1-14.3 range.
Good S2000 driver should beat you by at least 6-7 car lengths

BTW, win is still a win.
Last time I saw the Dallas Cowboys won a game by ONE POINT, they still got the
"W" in the paper.

I think you are just jealous you can't own a S2000

Just wondering how did you figure 2 10ths equal 2 car lengths?

Yeah, it's more like every 0.2-0.3 = one car length, from my experience.

90mph = 144kph. At this speed you travel 40m every second. An S2000 is just over 4m long so that would mean that every 0.1sec you travel one car-lenght at this speed.

Not really, this wasn't a 1/4 mile race, not even a 1/8 mile race. This was at most a 1/16th mile race and any distance put on any car should make one car decisive over another. You say he started to pull in 3rd, but there is NO WAY he wound out third to redline... not in that short distance.

Boy, I must be running into all the really fast S2K's here in LA. My SC'd CRX runs 14.00@98-99 mph (repeatable) at the strip. I did an impromptu rollon with Mingster (header/exhaust at the time) from 35 mph. We were pretty much dead even to about 60 mph, I might have pulled just a hair.

I've also put my friend in my S2K and driven my CRX against it on the roll. In 2nd gear, starting below VTEC in the S2K, my CRX pulls slightly (<1 length). In 3rd, the S2K pulls slightly and in 4th pulls more. From a stop, with teh traction advantage the S2K would get a big enough jump to hold off any 1st and 2nd gear charge from the CRX and then pull up top - oh, and this contest was at 2000 ft of altitude (near Willow Springs), where the boost gives the CRX a bigger advantage.

I also ran both cars same day, same location with a Vericom. The S2K, with the top down, trapped 0.5 mph faster and 0.4 seconds quicker (14.3@97.4 mph).

We californians are so lucky - we must get the picks of the litter because they come to port here ;-)

I'm beginning to think the S2000's straight line speed is overrated.
I'm going to start collecting kleefton quotes, they just keep getting better and better, just like his civic!!
