Ran ProjectX's S2k
I'll preface this with the fact that ProcectX and I are best friends and were just doing this for fun. My car is a 93 RX7 with a remapped ECU, downpipe, catback exhaust, intake w/AL pipes, and running 12psi instead of 10. His car has a header and catback exhaust.
There is a nice strech of 4 lane 70mph highway back home that for some reason has traffic lights on it. Makes for perfect matches like this. Anyway, we decided to run to 80 instead of some set distance.
With some very poor launches (just got my car running right and now the rear tires are worn, figures right?) my car would be about 2 car lengths ahead of his by the time I reached 80. We ran three different times.
We also did one run from a roll. I think we were around 35 or so when we started. His S surged ahead while mine waited for the turbo to spool up. I caught up and pulled ahead really pretty. Not sure on specifics, maybe Project remembers.
It was fun. I love the s2k, and his sounds awesome with the exhaust he has. So, I just thought you guys might be interested.

Only 12 psi, j/k. Around the corner from my house is the beast that was on the cover of Sport Compact Car about 2-3 years ago. Remember the porsche red with the white racing stripes and over 500 horsepower! Since then he has removed the racing stripes and added a C/F hood. He had an S2K also and left it on the street in NYC and it was stolen. His RX-7 is probably the nicest one in the U.S. He went through a few engines and close to 100G's on that car, but in the end its perfect.
i think on the roll i did a little better than a stop and go ..i think it was like 75ish by the time you caught up to me but that was after all a matter of seconds...(and then blew my doors off passing me)

I would think that stock for stock the rx-7 would still be the clear winner. I beleive the stock specs on it are 0-60 in 5.2 and 1/4 mile in 13.7. Correct me if I'm wrong though.
I'm still running sequential.
The runs where we started from a stop were pretty bad launches. With the worn tires I spin very easily, so I purposely launched modestly.
From a roll I downshifted at the start instead of just having it in the right gear.
Hehe, I'll get to run him again when I go back for the x-mas holidays but sadly it will be in my 91 Jetta
