I pulled up next to this guy a few months ago to ask what he had in his black RX-8 and he just smiled and held up 3 fingers, then 2, then 1, then we both WOT-ed from the roll and I pulled on him about half a car by the end of 2nd, whereafter we shut down due to traffic. He had intake/test pipe/exhaust.

Today as I was on my way to school, I saw him again and pulled behind him at a red light. The light turned green and I slowly got beside him. I heard him rev pretty high and it was pretty loud, so I geared down into 2nd and we both WOT-ed. I pulled about a car by the end of 2nd, then about 2 cars by the end of 3rd. We pull side by side at the next red light and we both take off easily, then when I'm at about 4krpms he guns it. I let him go for about a second then I gun it and nail the shift into 2nd with a nice long tire chirp. By the time I shifted into 2nd I had a car on him. I think he shut down once he heard the chirp. He turned left shortly after and I never got to talk to him again.

I only have HKS Hi-Power, Mugen Header, and Megan resonated test pipe.


Moral of the story: RX-8 = Easy.

 

RX-8 = RX-Late

It's a closer match up for a RSX then a S2000

 

i want a LS2 RX8.

I've seen a video of a stock RX-8 and stock S2000 on track day. The S2000 blew it away. The car looks alright too.

I still love the body of the last generation RX-7.
