Someone can't drive, check the numbers, the Elise is a low to mid 13-second car with only a slightly better launch than the S2000 (lower weight/stickier tires).

+1 Driven a stock lotus elise and its definitely faster than a s2000 with minor mods. But he did mention that his brother shifts slower than him

with the same 100-101 traps as a stock s2k. its much like the STi, out of thrid gear its a dog.

when it comes to corners though, the s2k is no match.

I'm with Stephenopoly, I thought the elise would walk a stockish S2000 easily.

I rent one before and a elise will kill a s2k. 0-60 and on a cruve road. They are that much better. I still could not drive it every day. No trunk space. You need run one with a sport package and it will be over real quick.

13.5 @ 102 (Moto Trend, Sep '04)
13.4 @ 101 (Road & Track, Aug '04)
13.2 @ 104 (Car and Driver, July '04)

Compared to the S2000's best professional time (13.7), the Elise easily wins with it's best professional time of 13.2 (Link). The S2000 is simply no match in a drag race, unless the Elise driver is incompetent, and we don't even want to start with the twisties.

I also forgot to mention i ran him from a 20 something roll. I was a bit out of a vtec, he pulled me intially but I reeled him in by 4th gear ending with a tie.

I am certain his car would beat me from a stop. But we both agree on that. Neither of us feel the abuse is nessissary simply for bragging rights. :/ I think we all can agree neither of these cars are Drag cars. So I really dont give a rats ass about published 0-60 times or 1/4 times. Though I do very much look forward to running with his Elise on the Dragon and VIR.

My brother is also no slouch of a driver. Maybe i just shift lightning quick  The CDV would have definitly crippled me in this race, since the clutch probably would have slipped on each shift. But when each car is in gear and under acceleration my car simply out accels his Elise.

I will say however that it would be a MAD close race should he have raced a stock S2000 or an Ap1. I have put 1.5 cars minimum on Every S2000 i have raced. 03ap1, 05ap2, 06ap2.
