The S2000 can beat an EVO with normal Boltons,,,,,, i have raced a couple of evo's and beat them just with an exhaust, intake, headers and flywheel + clutch.
i have raced them 1/4 mile and top speed the only thing is that you really need to drive the S2000 very well and especially launching the car.

I've only ran a few evo/sti's, as posted, in my NSX and I haven't had a problem with any of them. I've only ran a couple of S's, very casually, no idea who the driver was, down a local highway and they hung about the same as the EVOs did, so I would say its a drivers race from a roll. From a dig, hasta la bye bye S2k...you'll catch up around 80 or so I would think because of the long gears on the S2k. Thats what helped me so much was the fact that the EVO shifted 4 times in the 1/4 mile and I only shifted 3...and my gear box (and the S2k gear box) is much tighter and more responsive than the EVOs.

It really depends more on if it's cold or hot outside. If it's cold and from a roll, S2000 probably wouldn't win at speeds below 100, all other things equal.

S2000 all motor modieifed could eat the EVO (stock). S2000 motor is very capable of going faster.

LOL, but your talking "all modified" compared to stock. Yes the S2K is capable of going faster but so is the EVO. Its a no-brainer really. The cars are pretty much even, we all know the EVO will get the jump unless the S driver gets a great launch. But if you even start to go mod for mod, the EVO will eat the S hands down.

Give us about 1 month to finally get some parts for the EVO and we'll make a video. We plan on a turbo back exhaust (40-50 whp), reprogrammed ECU (20-25 whp) intake (10-15 whp) and maybe cams (25-30 whp) all for about $2000. If we get some decent weather, we might get a run with the S w/exhaust and drop in filter -vs- Stock EVO.

Evo's power ranges a lot from factory. All dynos aren't the same either.

I've tied an EVO from a roll around 25mph...no one pulled on anyone up to about 105 where we both let off, couldn't tell who would have won...I posted when it happened.
