then I can understand your point.
If you are looking at it from an exotic flair standpoint, the NSX is just more distinctive and unique than a Vette. But from a performance standpoint, I think it would be inaccurate to state that an NSX is superior or even close to onpar with a Vette.

Lol, well if you had a C6Z and an NSX parked next to eachother I wouldnt even notice there was an NSX there Seriously it comes down to what people like and personally I like American Muscle (I would also take a C6Z over a Viper) I also like Viper's looked into picking one up on more than one occasion, just because you dont see them often. But if it was something I had to drive daily id take the Vette.

So because this is an S2000 forum we are obligated to love the NSX?

This is a funny comparison because just a couple days ago I saw a 1993 NSX and a 2006 Vette at an Acura dealer. The NSX was marked for $55k and the Vette was $43k. I remember thinking how if it were my $12k I'd go for the Vette, and then I saw a modified Viper and a Lingenfelter C5 both going for $37k and thought "F both the C6 and the NSX, I'll take 600+whp anyday." "Soul" only goes so far in my book.

The NSX is an outdated supercar, and it's debatable whether or not it still deserves to retain the supercar title. What other "supercar" can be seriously threatened in performance by stock sedans(Evo, STI)? The Miura was great in it's day as well, but it has since faded to classic status just as the NSX is quickly doing.

Don't get me wrong, I'd buy an NSX for $30k, and I'd take one anyday for free, but I wouldn't take it over a more modern and better performer(all else being equal). The NSX is certainly an awesome vehicle, and with some boost it is one of my dream cars. I just work too hard for my money to not get a lot of bang for my buck.

^ Agreed. Its funny because this arguement is going on on LS1tech and obviously its the exact opposite, everyone would take the Vette (well majority)

Wait, do you mean 2003 NSX? I've been poking around for a used 02+ since the summer and I've never seen a 90-anything for anywhere near $55K.

I can relate to the CTS ad that's currently running "when you turn your car on, does it return the favor?" Thankfully, not all people are 'turned on' by the same qualities in cars, otherwise there'd be only one model of car on the road!

Dealerships in my area are notorious for marking up sports cars, and this particular NSX had only 17k miles on it. Just a couple years ago there was a low mileage NA1 with a price tag of $70k. Needless to say, it sat on the showroom floor for at least 2 years before disappearing.

I could probably go take a picture of it with its price tag if it's too unbelievable.

Naw, I belive you Dealers can be nuts sometimes. Maybe they just want it in there to bring in foot traffic or whatever. It does have incredibly low miles for a 14-15 year old car!

A decent "deal" I've seen from a private seller near me was $50K cash for an '02 with ~60K miles. It was a daily driver.

I just stumbled on this thread, funny as hell. There is no way a stock S2k would be dead even with a NA1 NSX. I own both and the NSX was obviously not trying. Some of the comments are very amusing.

a stock NA1 NSX isnt much faster than a stock s2k. and th OP is modded, and was alone, and the NSX had passenger.

last year on our annual NSX/S2000 drive i was more than able to hang with the NA1's, the NA2's on the other hand are alot quicker than most people think.
