How fast are those SC Si's with intake, header, exhaust...??? I raced one on the freeway from a 65+ roll. I was just crusing along and then he came next to me and paced me for a while. I look over and he nods. We both dropped it...don't know what gear he dropped into, but I dropped into 3rd. By the time I got done with 3rd and went into 4th, he was falling behind. Later that knight, I saw him at the illegal street gathering. I spoke to him and he was like "Your S2000 must not be stock, I have raced a few and none have pulled that hard on me!" I of course was completely stock. He was surpised that I beat him. I figured he probably raced some old foggies or some folks that couldn't drive the S2000. He didn't want to look bad, so he says..."You were lucky I didn't have my NOS hooked up". I said, maybe next time we can run again...then went my way and head home.

Anyone else race one...or know the HP...1/4 times???

If he was pushing about 6-7 psi, you should beat him.

 

I think he was maybe pushing 6psi. He had his hood open and all the rice boys where crowded around his car looking at the setup.

 

It depends what kind of supercharger and how well it's tuned.

If he has the JRSC then he was probably running 6 psi. He's making 180whp with some good tuning and the mods he has. He's at best running low low 14s and trapping 96-99mph. Should have been a good match for the S2000.

If he was running the Vortech Supercharger he would have most likely beaten you. The vortech kits make about 240-270whp depending on what pulley you use, 8psi or 10 psi. and they run mid 13s and trap at 104-106mph depending on tuning.

Good kill though. This guy sounded like he just put the SC in and didn't even bother dynotuning it.

 

i've raced one several times in dallas.. black one w/ I/H/E on a perfect run i'd get about 2 cars on him by 100. if i messed up at all i'd lose.. if i didn't shift perfect i'd have to catch'em in top end.

..and i got beat by a blue one in austin.. right in front of the capital..

 

Sport Compacts mag had some 6 supercharged cars and the SI was doing 6 sec 0-60 i think.

 

The mechanic at my honda dealer has just the SC and runs a 14.7.

I've seen a couple of SC SI's around the local tracks. I have yet to see one run faster that a 14.0...Most run mid 9's in the 1/8th. The centrafugal (vortech kits) make more overall power but its peaky like their power band. The JR kits (roots blower) are quicker off the line,with less top end. Anyway its a close race with the nod going to a good S2000 driver.
