^^ Should be close for a few gears IMO. They might get away top end though.

My 07 with header, test pipe, and exhaust vs 98 mustang gt with headers, x pipe, no cats, port and polish, throttle body, and its an automatic. Almost forgot, its a convertible.

Stock '04 S (except brand new nitto invo tires... less than 50 miles on them) vs. 09' GTI MKV w/ stage 2 chip, down pipe and its practically slammed!

GTI MKV w/ stage 2 chip + down pipe = no joke

If he's a good driver, you'll probably get stomped.

Yeah right. Basic stage 2 MKV's are usually only good for 100-102 mph trap speeds. And even at that their top end is more like a 99mph car once you get into triple digits.

They're quick, but a well driven S should take one.

230-240whp/280-290 ft. lbs. in a 3200lbs FWD hatch with no LSD.

Catch one from a dig and it would be over quick.

I figured my only chance would be from a dig because I'm expecting him to be spinning through the first two gears, it might give me a chance... everywhere else I'm expecting to get stomped on... I'll have to see!! I'll let ya know...

Well as luck would have it i just had a run in with a new sweet looking black 437hp c6 tonight and answered my own question, I'm pretty stoked, don't get the opportunity often to play with one and was my real first drag since swapping in my f22 from my tragic issue with my previous f20.

We took off from rolling 2nd through 4th gear. With him drafting behind me. I watched in my mirror as I pulled the spread between us, more so as I gained speed in 4th gear, id say approx 10 cars by the time I shut down at 110 or so.
