Hey, it happened. It was a good day for me and a bad day for him I guess. He was really young and probably didn't know how to drive. No reason to lie about it. I was suprised myself.

Both the S2000 and WRX are good cars. IMO, the main thing the S2000 has going for it is better handling, the convertible top, and a greater "fun to drive" factor. Can't find many detractors about the WRX, it's fast, practical, and gotta love the rush from the turbo. I currently have a S2000 and will probably be trading it in on a WRX in the next few weeks because I want something more practical and a little cheaper to maintain. Can't go wrong either way.

Why is the WRX cheaper to maintain?

"Park both cars side by side and turn ignition off: The S2000 wins! Next?"

LOL- that's the truth though, honestly, the S wins on looks alone, which means alot to me!!!

I agree. Aesthetics are important. I was originally intending on getting either a WRX STi or an EVO VIII, but when I saw them in person, they were just so incredibly ugly! I really appreciate them for their performance and singlemindedness in design though. Really glad I ended up w/ the S2K instead.

My personal belief is that it will be cheaper to maintain. Of course I won't know if that's true until I actually own one. It's certainly a gamble, but one that I'm willing to take.

The WRX doesn't go through tires as quickly as the S2000, and it doesn't require the same frequency of tranny and differential fluid changes. My impression is that the WRX clutch also lasts longer - on average - than the S2000 clutch, although that's hard to say at this point since there aren't many high mileage S2000's out there. Overall, my feeling is that the WRX will be cheaper to maintain in the long run if used as a daily driver.

Again, I can't say for certain that this will hold true. It's only a guess on my part. My S2000 has over 56k miles on it, so I know how much it costs to maintain. A whole bunch of co-workers and friends own WRX's, and from what I have seen, I think it will cost less in the long haul. I'll let you know in a year or so.
