I raced one with an intake on the highway, 40-120, 2nd gear roll... I had him by at least 3-4 car lengths when it was over. both cars had a passenger in them.

Does any of your WRXs fog up constantly? When i ride in my friends wrx, his windows would fog up completely every 5 minutes...

I was about to purchase a WRX until i saw a s2000 on the street. Right when i got home i did sum research and fell in love =)

Personally i dont think the WRX is cheaper to maintain in the long run. Doesn't turbo harm the engine? if thats true, then the s2000 will probably last longer. Personally... i would rather trust a Honda more than a Subaru.

Subarus are pretty damn reliable. They have bulletproof engines/powertrains, so I wouldn't worry about that.

But, a turbocharged car will always have more maintenance down the road. As turbos have to be replaced in addition to all the normal maintenance/repairs that need to be done. The good thing is that it's usually after 70K miles when those things need to be fixed.

So you should easily get 50K miles with regular oil changes and tire changes/rotations and any additional regular maintenance.

Then the guy n the STI couldnt drive!... STI can EASILY beat a stock S and a SC'ed S!
Stock s2000 yes. Not a supercharged s2000. At least not from a roll. A supercharged S is a monster over 100 mph. The sti has great 1/4 mile numbers but alot of that comes from the crazy launch from a dig. Supercharged s and a sti trap some close mph around 105. To 130mph A properly tuned s/c s2000 with an aftercooler can beat a stock sti by several seconds (yes I said several seconds). Above 100 mph a s/c s2000 is at home and motors like crazy.

i would rather trust a Honda more than a Subaru.
Subaru has bullet proof reliability. Ya can't kill the things. They take massive abuse and keep on going.

Bull! An STI cannot beat a S/C'ed S2000, much less "EASILY". At most, they are even, but the S would be faster if an aftercooler is installed along with an S/C.

him: my friend, has a lot of shit done, including exhaust, gears, lightened flywheel, etc etc.

me: with a shitty launch, and just a comptech supercharger running stock boost.

i raced him earlier that night but sadly it was not recorded. I beat him from a 2nd gear 40 mph roll.

My roommates friend was in town last night with a '03 WRX, stock. I got to run him a dozen times or so from a dead stop and from rolling at high speed on the freeway. From a stop, he did pull off the line about a half car length, but once my VTEC kicked in I started pulling back. By the end of second gear I was a car length ahead of him and by the end of third I was about 3 cars ahead of him. From a roll, we started at 60mph with me in third gear (right in VTEC). We went to about 120mph and every time I pulled multiple car lengths on him. I really couldn't tell how many because it was 1am and dark, but I'd have to say about 5-6 car lengths. He had my roommate in his car and a computer in his backseat, so he had some excess weight. I was alone. It is clear the S2000 is putting down more power though.

That's a no! I smoked a stock STI with heavy ass chrome 18's a passenger and the top down from a roll. Now Angel's (Z06killr) STI we were dead even with same chrome wheels, top down and his exhaust removed.

i went to go look at the 04 wrx.. and the STi.. the guy wouldnt let me test drive it.. for some god damn reason so i left.. went to 2 mitsu dealership.. looked at the evo.. and ended up at the honda dealership gettin an 04 S.. all in all.. i "thoguht" i wanted a performance car.. but to me.. having a fun car to drive.. a reliable vehicle.. and aesthitics.. wrx doesnt really have the looks and interior i want.. the evo 8 interiro looked eh? outside looked eh? also.. and the new S interior got me sold.. plus.. i love the way they redesigned the S.. (comin from an 00 S which had a loud ass cabin! ) so the new 04 S has a lot of changes.. especially on the outside.. new bumpers front and rear.. i love the exhaust tips they have on the 04's.. and lights!! i love the new lights!!
