agreed. even a c5 would wipe the floor with an n/a s2000 lol
Really?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrCNtrtFHGo

He had intake/exhaust
I had intake/exhaust/gears

I missed 5th or I would have beat him (hint the low trap speed)

His best run ever is a 13.6, mine is a 13.7. This run he went a 2.1 60ft. I dont think its the driver so please dont use that excuse. I have seen around 20 C5s run there and the fastest stock/light bolt on that I have seen ran a 13.4. So I wouldnt say wipe the floor...

when will the internet learn the E.T is TOTALLY WORTHLESS when comparing cars. i have many, many, many and many more hours in both these two cars. i had at one point the fastest NA s2k on the boards, ive grown up around vettes, ive raced vettes, auto-x vettes you name it.

a s2k traps 98-101 on a high to low scale. the C5 vette traps 102-106 on a high low scale.

350hp 3200lbs and 240hp 2800lbs. 400hp and 110 hp.

most 6MT vettes with trap 105-106 most autos cause of their low diff(2.73) will run 13.7-13.8 at 102-104. you might be able to catch a 4AT off guard and hang with them, but as the speeds increase, you'll get left behind, you not going to out pull a LS1 on the topend.

so yes, a stock C5 will mop the floor with just about any NA s2k. when my s2k was the fastest, trapping 105, it was all i could do to stay within a car of a c5. and i havent seen a NA s2k trap 105 in a LONG time. in that vid you trapped 99 or it looked like it even with a missed 5th gear, your not going to pic up that much trap, maybe a hundredth or two. i ran 13.98@100 stock, so your mods arent doing much for you if anything. your gears are the only thing that even made that a race. that vette trapped VERY low, looked to be around 99 or so too. that means it either a 4AT, or its a 6sp thats sick, and very sick.

and if you seen 20 c5's then you havent seen many. i know guys with stock autos that run 13.5's@104 LOL. 6sp cars can run 13.0's@106 with ease. with bolt ons, please, dont get delusional, with I/h/e/tune c5's get into the 12's at close to 110. thats 8+psi s2k territory.

go over to corvetteforum, and browse through their 1/4mile times/traps. stock 6sp with DR's have gone 12's@106-107.

im not bashing you, or anything, but providing a taste of reality. you dont have to like vettes, noones asking you to, but atleast know your enemy. and with a 99trap you have no room to brag, you trapping what a stock s2k does.

keep the rubber side down

im just saying on this track in ohio cars dont seem to be as fast. My buddy has an Ls1 Camaro, his best run on that track is an 11.6@124ish? He took it to Kilkare and ran 10.8s. Its a crappy track, im not saying the vettes cant run that fast, just on that track they havent. So it makes me wonder how fast cars really are if you get them on the right track.

And yes the vette was a 6spd.

I go by the track, not the "suppose to time" On that track bone stock I could only pull a 14.4 @98. With my gears an exhaust it brought it to a 13.7@101 (best trap) thats untuned with a slipping clutch. So I know my mods did alot for me personally. Depends on track conditions. The cars I raced from a roll before the gears I seem to beat them by atleast 2-3 more cars each time now.
