I hate when they think that their car is awesome because its faster than cars that cost a lot more then theirs. They dont realize that it cost money to have nice interior, looks, handling, etc. Its not hard to put a different engine in an already made econo car and sell it for cheap.

Not to rain on anyones parade but the hp for the SRT4 is more accuratly rated at the wheels... Dodge underratted the SRT4.
I'm not trying to start anything, I don't have anything against the neon, errr I mean SRT-4. But I just found a dyno test of a stock SRT-4 at the flywheel
218.8 hP @ 5664 RPM

Thats a drop of 11.2 HP from their stated 230 HP.

Anyways, I love it when people who bought a car with a stock turbo, proclaim that their car is faster than another car with the same or less displacement that's N/A. Why don't they take that turbo out, and then race. If you turbo anything it will be fast.

thats the best part, our 2.0 makes 10 more horse NA! we dont need a turbo on 2.4 to make 230! thats really sad when you think about it. even the old wrx made 227 on a boosted 2.0. efficiency...not a domestic thing.

There's nothing magical about N/A power that is somehow better than F/I power. Power is power. What you are saying makes as much sense as saying "if you took the fuel pump out the S2K, it wouldn't run at all". Yeah, but so what?

That was the worst analogy i've ever heard. Are you trying to say that a turbo doesn't make a difference in power? It's alot easier to make a crappy engine and throw on a turbo to boost it's power, then to actually make a high performance engine without any F/I. I'd like to see an SRT-4 talking crap to an S2000 with F/I. He would make a fool out of the SRT-4.

Here is a bone stock dyno sheet that i found with in a matter of 2 minutes....
It seems that most bone stock SRT-4s dyno between 216-240hp ... depends on temp, humidty, dyno, and the car itself.

Many more like it...
Just because some dyno low dont mean all dyno low... it may of had a boost leak or not ... who knows.

here is link to the site.... if you want to read post.

If those dyno numbers are true then Dodge should up their advertising. Since when did a car company rate their cars at that less hp than what they really are? Whats 230whp at the crank? Their would be way more highschoolers buying SRT-4's if Dodge stated like 260hp or whatever!

Insurance my boy, insurance. If they rated it at 260hp then the insurance would be so high the teenie weenies couldn't afford it.
