Based on how I'm reading it, the Z06 is still faster than basically ANY S/C S2k.

If I ever see an S2000 with everything else stock except for a superchager run 11.8 at 118mph, then I will say its as fast as a Z06.

Until then, 12.8 at 108 is even pushing it.

my roomate kept doubting me that I'd walk a Camaro Z28, and I've done so twice after his doubtings...

Once I raced onto an onramp, and started barely pulling around second, and distance increased as I was cruising onto fourth gear, then he let off...

Another time was on the streets, from a roll, we both went when I hit vtec, and walked him when I first put it into 3rd...

I know these may seem off, but are the Z28s really that quick?

Ok. best times i've ever seen out of a SC s2000 is 13.0 and i think the highest trap was 108..

this is enough to beat 'some' stock or badly driven ls1's. most ls1's trap AT LEAST 105mph

a turbo s2000 is a different story.. CHrisD managed a 12.6@115 if i remember right.. that trap speed is enough to 'hang' w/ a bone stock z06.. from a roll..

but i raced wes's turbo s2000 and it ran a best of 12.9@108mph that night.. i did a best of 13.2@108 that night but had some serious traction issues w/ h-rated street tires

but from a highway roll it was a very close match w/ the turbo s2k.. he got me by 1/2 length i was putting down 335rwhp then.. he was puttind down 320rwhp.. and he's got a 500 lbs weight advantage.

you guys must be on the pipe. First off im not even going to start on the LS1's, cuz not even a supercharger on the F20 could take a z28, SS, vette or z06. You may say that, but if any of the before mentioned cars get traction off the line, you wont be able to deal with the shitstorm of torque they deal up. Thats my main problem, id walk a vette all day with the power i have in my motor, its just my street 245's get smoked up wayyy too easily by the 3.73 rear. A nice supercharger and a few other mods, yea, maybe after 2nd or third youd pass a good driver in a z28 LT1, and probably a LS1, but specs on paper are very hard to compare a car that has its power in high rpm's to a car with low end power. Generally form my experience (and i have driven a supercharged s2k, my friends brothers in fact, his name is cameron, lives in Cary, NC) the car that will get up and go off the line quicker will gain enough off the line to hold its own through the quarter. perfect example would be my 2000 SI would on paper beat an automatic Camaro V6, but in all reality, the camaro would pull me off the line by 2 cars while i slowly gAINed through the quarter, but never passing him. just my opinion but in a "close" matchup, the torque is gonna eat you off the line and you just have to hope you can catch up by the end of the race. bottom line z28 or SS is a badass car with gobs of torque. they cant handle for shit, but straight line is what they do, so dont with them unless you know what your doing.

I do not understand why you seem hell bent on dragging up old posts just to throw in your unwarranted and often incorrect 2 cents, but what the hell, I'll jump in.

Yeah SB5.0, any car that runs 12's will hang with a stock Z06 (on stock tires). Why do think they're blowing smoke? You can't trust your butt-dyno. The S2000's RPM range gains more actual thrust than what it feels like.

yea i definitely agree with you guys on the gearing and such, as well as the s2k having more thrust than it feels like, i used to have a VTEC SI. But i am aware that (discounting drivers) of what my car SHOULD to with right SUSPENSION (which is 90% what matters in a drag) and the right tires. just my two cents but id have to see it to believe it....... thats just me. i am completely aware of what mustangs will do, seein ive ripped apart several including a 351 drag car with a completely useless first gear. Adding a launch kit, k member, coilovers, and slicks, ive seen many (yes, MANY) of my car with the same mods pull wheelies(not HUGE ones) and run mid-high12's. whatever this is stupid conversation leave it at that. as far as making "wild assumptions" thats all on your part.
