First of all I have an 02 SILVER S2000. I have a single apex exhaust,V-2 cold air intake,A gutted trunk(there is absolutely nothing in my trunk including carpet) I have no Air Conditioner Unit,took all of that off including the condenser,so my S2K is light. Ne ways I was coming from the gym ready to turn left on Aviation blvd from Rosecrans Ave(for those who are familiar with these streets).But before I did I noticed a Black,nice ass,looked sooped up Honda Civic SI. Im not sure what year it was but it was the latest model.It was dropped,nice rims,exhaust system,clean body kit,im not sure what he had in the engine but I must imagine it had something,it sounded beautiful. When I noticed him in my rear view mirror I didnt think nothing of it untill I made that left turn.I made it pretty quick knowing the S2K can handle it. I noticed him doing the same.Then I noticed he was on my ass like fly's on shit. So I pushed the gas just a little, he was still there.I got tired of his shit so I moved to the right line,ofcourse he hit a stop light.I looked at him but he pretended not to. There was another car to his left making a left. He was trying to get her attention,I dont know. I guess he thinks his car is a ferrari. Then I noticed he looked forward and then I heard the rev's and he hit it.I was like shit, its GREEN, lets go.Yeah he had half a car length in the beggining because of my sorry ass not paying attention but as soon as I hit V-TEC in first gear I had him by almost half a car,the tides turned on his ass. I went up to 8 1/2 almost 9 RPM's, BAM, Down shifted to 2nd, It was over, he knew it, I knew it, before I hit 3rd I looked in my rear view mirror and he tried to play it off like he was about to turn left in the middle of the street. Hey, maybe he was going to try to win that girls heart that we saw at the stop light, maybe he had a better chance at that, who knows and who ing cares. Another win for us S2K owners.

 

Nice run!! Usually it's the cars w/ a lot of exterior mods that are the slow ones. It's usually the primed up hatches or with very little exterior mods that I'm afraid of. They are bthe ones who spend most of their money into the engine.

So was the driver riding your bumper during the turn or after the turn?

The only Civic that surprised me when I was driving my S had a B18 with a turbo. Pretty fast and looked ratty (primered body kit). The BOV sound was very unexpected.

How did you down shift when you're already in 1st gear?
