I went cruising around after the Import Expo car show, looking for trouble. I couldn't find anyone out (things have been dead since the two big racing busts). I cruised up to a red light that was turning green. My lane was open, I left the car in 4th at 60-ish. As I passed a few rows of cars I saw that the first two cars coming off the line were two Camaros. One of them seemed to have valve stem lights (ugh). I was wanting to play, so as I pulled even to them and immediately slowed to match their speed. Before I even knew they were game, the guy on the far lane punches it. He has 2+ car-lengths and +10 MPH on me before I even began to note my speed (54 MPH) and I downshift into 2nd. I jam on it and give chase. I figured he would be long gone, then slow down to try to "beat" me again. Well, that's not exactly what happened. He kept on the gas, as did I. He wasn't making any ground after I ran through 2nd gear...I ran through 3rd keeping him at bay, then by the time I was throwing it into 4th I was gaining on him. I ran through 4th, and used up just enough of 5th to pull me even with him before I let up...just showing him..."gotcha". He let out as I did and went on his way, turning right as I u-turned. Looked like a lightly modified LT1...would have been even better if we had started at the same time.

Just curious, have you timed your car yet in the 1/4? If so, what is your best time?

Wouldn't figure you tohave any problems with a lightly modded LT1.
