show me whatcha got
i was cruising down one nice afternoon at portage avenue here in winnipeg, canada in my pretty much rusting 87 prelude auto, anyways, low and behold an s2000 cruises by, theres not alot of s2000 where im from (dam thing cost two new celica gt here), anyways i wanted to see how fast these things go so i started tailing it hehe, u would have to if all you drove was a beat up honda prelude... so we got into a redlight, looked over and saw a pretty much a spoiled looking white dude, dam lucky sob... i gave him a thumbs up and said luved your car, he smiles back... i really really wanted to see how fast these cars accelerated because this is my very first sighting of one in person... so yea i had to do something to make this guy shoot off the green light, so hehe i started revving my lude.. he looks over and smiles, I KNOW I HAVE NO CHANCE but i wanted to see it take off so badly... so i reved my engine again and he finally starts revvin his hehe, green light comes on and i shoot my car he shoots his car.. i couldnt believe it i was ahead by a nose till 2nd gear.. this guy is either a)not trying or b)doesnt know how to drive stick.. anyways, it was a short race if you call it that, he shutdown.. he probly felt i wasnt worth racing but its allgood though.. i got to ride close with an s2k... i remember that made my day
He may have declined to do a trnsmission-endangering clutch drop. No matter what the other people on this board think, the S2000 is NOT a dragster.
It was designed to carve up a road course.

he could have wouped my lude even if he didnt do a high clutch drop, guess he didnt think i was worth the race er i mean show
As a new owner that gets revved at alot, my guess is he was weighing out the risk of losing his license to prove an S2K can take an '87 Prelude. You may have been doing it in revvvverence to the Honda but this car gets so much attention from other drivers, imo, that you can't really indulge them all and still get to where you were going.
Sometimes I'll rev back just to give them an earful of the S2K's beautiful engine note or as ackowledgement to a kindred spirit, but not as an acceptance to race on public streets.
