Default Skunk engine???

I was driving on a highway today, and this black modded Civic pulls up next to me. I d/s into 3rd at 55 mph, and we both gunned it. From 55-75 we were even, then he had to shift and his engine backfired. I pulled 1/2 a car length from that, and then from 75-90 I pulled another car length. At the next light, I asked him what he had and he responded, a skunk engine. Anyone know what the hell that is?

Aftermarket cam spockets or something like that? Skunk, I thought it was some aftermarket US company. Sounds damn familiar but I suppose it gets the power to the ground.

They are a US brand company that makes a lot of engine stuff for Hondas. They make cams, intake manifolds, strut braces, etc... The cams and the intake manifolds are an exact copy of the Type-R versions for said vehicle. Latez!

I d/s into 3rd at 55 mph,
I would definately recomend a 2nd gear downshift here. Doing that would have easily left him from the way it sounds.

I thought about that, but I figured 55 was close enough to VTEC, and it would save me time since I wouldn't have to shift 2-3.

Skunk2 prep'd a civic for Taz Harvey for the SCCA touring car races. It finished second yesterday beating out a lot of the real time ITR's and many BMW's. So Skunk2 knows their stuff....
