Coming home late last night, I stopped at a red light and next to me was some guy in a GTi 1.8T. I didn't look at him, but out of my peripheral vision, I saw that he kept staring at me and also revving at me. I was a little bit irritated cuz I don't like people doing that. I thought to give it a go since there were no one on the road. We both eased off the line, but when we reached about 10mph, we both punched it. I was still in 1st. Well, I took it up to 85mph, and slowed down. To my surprise, he was only 1 car behind.

Anyhoo, he pretty much looked stock but his car was loud (no big exhaust). I thought I would've raped him and taught him a lesson for staring. But as it turned out, he was only 1 car behind. I've beaten Camaro LT1 more than that. So, what kind of mods do you think he had? Chip, higher boost, upgraded turbo, etc.? No way could a stock Gti keep up like that when I shifted perfectly.

Well, that's it for now. Nothing too exciting, but I was taken aback that he appeared stock but kept up well. Sleeper!

 

A chip is the easiest mod those 1.8T's can do without anything else. I guess it's their version of a Hondata flash upgrade.

The addition of a boost controller can go a long way also.
