Smoked a 911 Turbo
#21
Raced a 911 of previous generation and I have to say we were pretty even on the highway. Gave each other a thumbs up and went on our separate ways. I had the chance to take a look at his rear end of the car and saw carrera and dual exhaust but couldnt find out if it was a Turbo version. I guess there should have been a different result if it was TT.

Came across the same 911 today. We waved to each other and was just cruising when he punches his car. I downshift to 3rd and started catching up to him. I know I could have passed him but slowed down since there were cars ahead of us. Anyway, We get off the same exit and talked at the red light. He asked me if my car was stock and I told him it was. Him and his gf was telling me that they are trying to buy an s2000......It was a fun race!!!! Oh yeah, I had my top down too and it felt great!!

About running the 911 in the previous post, I'm sure the race happened, but do you now the 911 Carrera (non turbo) runs low 13s? That's C5 (current corvette) material.
To put that in perspective, we witnessed a race between a stock '01 Trans Am WS6 (the same LS1 engine of the C5) against a supercharged S2000. From a roll, it was pretty even. Let's just say, they left us (stock S2000) in the dust. It wasn't even worth trying after they put 5+ cars on us.
From that, you can only ponder what a 911 Turbo would do to a S/C'ed S2000, better yet a stock S2000...

Ok now this is 98% off the topic being discussed but this is just an observation based on the original story: Why is it that people with new vehicles in Texas always have expired temporary plates? Now I think I know the answer and that is that the temp plates only last 30 days and when you buy a vehicle it takes slow a** TxDOT 6 weeks to have some convict pound you out a plate. Why don't they just make the temps last longer. Ok, so it was a mindless rant but I feel better for having made it public.
For the record, I have had a late model 911 (non-turbo) leave me. Got caught with my pants down and my car in 6th at 70 before I could react but I don't think it would have changed the outcome.
"I have never claimed my car is the fastest car out there but I know it will beat your wife's minivan" (Comment relayed to a friend with a '96 vette and a house full of young children...)

LOL no it's because we are texans
the land of morons supposivly
i hate that we are called that but we are
most car dealerships don't get your plate in on time or they forget to call you when they get it in to give it to you
again that explains dealerships and there redneck ideals.
i'm a texan don't get me wrong i love texas but some ppl can just be moronic
i mean i hate when you get in the left lane as it's suppose to be a curtisy lane for those to pass and go faster
but ppl get in it thinking there going to go faster yet they only drive the speed limit and hold everyone else up

The left lane business is so true. I just finished a 4500 mile journey in my stook and in EVERY state I went through (about a dozen) people went out of there way to get out of the way. Coming into TX along I-10 in LA I noticed that more and more people would not get out of the way and almost all of them had TX plates. It really makes no sense to me because outside of their cars, texans are some of the nicest people I've meet in this country. Can't explain it

quick question about NOS:
If you use NOS on the street, is it really really obvious to the cops? Also, do you just get a ticket for NOS or are you looking at jail time.
Can't the stook run into the 12s with 75shot of NOS?
