Spanked a S2000!
I was driving down Rt. 13 in my 2001 Golf 4 door 1.8t and saw a car gaining on my fast. I was doing 70 so he must have been doing a good 80ish. Before he gets a chance to pass me we get stuck at a light. I look over at this guy and smile..... and he looks away. The light turns green and I get a perfect launch but start to spin a little at around 3,000 rpms. I hear his car let out a chirp as he takes off the line. It was a very even start. By the time I hit 20 mph I had him by 1/2 a car length. At 60 I had him by a full car lenght and at 100 I still had him by 1 car length! 
I value my drivers license so I hit the flashers and claimed my victory. We slowed down to legal speeds and he rolled down his window and yelled, what do you have in that thing. I said, "a 4". I yelled back pull over. We pulled over and BSed for a few min. I must say they guy was cool. He said that he does not like to launch his car at over 6500 rpms because it kills the clutch. I had no idea you had to launch this things at almost 8,000 to get a good launch. 
That sucks! Anything over 2500 rpms in my car lights up the tires. I guess that is the beauty of having some torque. Anyway, he asked what work I had done to my car. I have a chip, turbo back exhaust, and an ITG filter. He couldn't believe it. Nothing like spanking a $30k car in a $20K car!

good job man...and you stated it perfectly in your story..he didn't want to launch the car properly..that is the only...i mean...the ONLY reason you beat him like that..notice that you weren't pulling on him anymore after that initial jump you got because of your chip..but hey good job..
just remember though...your car...a normal car..with a lil bit of work...who cares..ours..limited production eye catcher...chick magnet..race bred engine!!! i am glad there weren't any turns in your lil encounter...
