STi vs S2000
I read the first couple of posts and I was a little in shock....from what I know minus heavy internal work without S/C'ing a S2k, you're not going to a whole lot of gains staying N/A....correct me if I'm wrong.
I have a hard time believing an N/A S2k can keep in the same area code as a STI....let alone a full TB STI. From what I've heard TB, Intake, and boost controller puts an STI 300whp already.
IMHO this S2k was indeed S/C'ed....N/A S2K > stock WRX, stock STI > N/A S2K

Actually STi's dont need boost controllers or turbo timers. Also the stock intake is basically a ram air, and there is still a lot of discussion as to whether an aftermarket intake really makes a difference. Some people swear by the K&N or Injen, while others say they lost power or saw no gains. The stock intake box is by no way a restriction though with a high flow panel filter it can handle over 300whp. 300whp is pretty tough to get without engine management depending on the dyno also. I would say filter + TBE an STi would see about 270-285whp then add on engine management and a tune and you will see 300-325whp 320ft-lb torque.
I have UTEC sitting in my house waiting to be installed but I am away on work until March, but I will do a pre-UTEC dyno with just TBE and post UTEC dyno and see what my #s are.
I will also be going to the local track in MD (75&80) to see what my 1/4 times look like.

First you have to realize quarter mile times in this partifcular example (an awd STI) means nothing in a situation where launching the car wasn't involved.
I can't comment on how a NA S2000 would do against a STI, but I can tell you I would steadily pull on a STI through all the gears when I was supercharged.
And LilJapnBoy, DO realize that the STI, although a fast and mod friendly car, is not as fast as you make it out to be. This is directed towards you comment that you "have a hard time believing an N/A S2k can keep in the same area code as a STI....let alone a full TB STI."
Oh and stilish, you will notice a big difference once you get the UTEC in.

to my knowledge most turbo'ed cars benefit from something to help control and hold boost whether it's mbc or ebc including evos, wrxs, stis, gsx, etc.

I found a stock STI very fast, as fast maybe a stage 3 WRX....
Meanwhile I've found N/A s2ks to be not as fast...
I have also done pulls with a stage 3/4 WRX and a S/C'ed, UN-tuned S2k....and granted we didn't drive enough to get a definitive answer, no one walked away...
Granted there's a lot of variables, I've never seen all of these cars lined up at once, driver skill, etc.

really? i've heard of the boost creep problems in STIs....maybe this was more related to the 03/04s.

I'm a good driver my buddy has an '03 cobra and I can stay with him from a 2nd gear roll to 100. He is stock.
When I see 03 Cobras, I don't bother unless it's from a dig.
