After the little run... they roll up to the next stop light the driver says I'm gonna light em up, I said I'm not the tread is too expensive and I'll run you again from 40.... 30 seconds later he dies out so I pull over. I forgot the dudes name but he worked at Big O Tires.

Steve sorry to tell ya but the car I owned before the s2000 I bought was a Ford. The ONLY American car anyone in my household has ever owned and it too was just poorly made. New transmission at 30k miles (6k after I bought it), a third one (rebuilt at 110k miles) and was going on a 4th transmission at 150k along with a new engine. And ANY car can be reliable i suppose it just depends on if you like spending more time working on the car than driving it. And your LS1 wasnt a convertable I suppose either, convertables are just naturally noisy most of the time unless its a Mercedes. Not a biased opinion I am giving on the Camaros or TAs, but more of one based on observations from the ones people I know who owned them or ones Ive seen. Any car made can be a bad one it just seems that American made vehicles tend to be the ones with most problems. Crystler seems to be turning their line of cars around, but they wouldnt be in the upswing had they not have the influence from MB.

I had a 98 Cobra convertible that I purchased at invoice. I put 17k miles on the car, hit a couple of curbs at 40MPH (K.C. ice storms, stupid driver). I never had a single problem with the car, not one. It changed my opinion of American cars forever.

I sold the car after 10 or 11 months for 500 less than I paid for it.

I'll make sure to post an encounter in the twisties, a road I know very well... and I'll do my best to put my competitor in the ditch.
