I usually don't like to get into threads like this... But I know way too many people with VW's and audi's (i used to have an audi a4) lemme say something, gti people are worse than srt-4 drivers. They think there shit is so bad it pisses me off so much... I got called out a couple weeks ago by some fat girl in r32, I know for a fact she had intake and exhaust, and definitely some type of programer in her car cuz i saw her messin with it. Any who I didnt want to race, then like 20 gti guys kept talkin shit, so i figured what the hell I'm stock but I know how to drive this car... Put it like this, I havnt heard one word of shit talking since my stock s2k pulled a half car by end of 3rd on her awd drive semi-modded r32... I also raced other gti's and beat them before also, of course when I ask what they are running they say not much and I'll eventaully find out what they really have and find it pretty funny how much shit these people talk just cuz there blow off valve makes a loud pshhhhh sound... To bad they are so stupid they dont even realise that a diverter valve would help them alot more but then again that doesnt make a cool pssshhh sound. Just my 2 cents on the subject.... If you want to see the tye of results vwvortex.com has to show, just read the "great red caliper thread" (please copy and paste link so it works)

Looks like you need a login to view the page. Does anybody really care about what VW Vortex thinks though? I have seen some of their threads before and they are on about the same level intellectually as clubsi.com or srtforums. I believe that last Vortex thread that was linked here had some guy with a VW jetta saying "but it's still just a honda" about the s2k. As if VW is some huge leap in quality and performance over Honda.

Just the opposite. I had an 02 A4. Failure of the month club. Dumped the POS at the end of the warranty and bought the S.

I had a Jetta 1.8t with the same mods (5 speed).

Tourque steer....sucked

Brakes.....sucked

Gearing....good for lower speeds, lame for high end blasts.

FWD....sucked

Built very well, handeled well for a FWD.

No where as quick as the S2k ( I know my 4 door is heavier than the Golf)

Liked the car...but if you want a sports car, VW's only real option is the R32, and its not really a sports car.

Impressive numbers still for a 1.8, if only it was RWD, It would be a lot more fun to drive, and probably quicker around a track.

Hmmm VW and AUDI? Reliability is very questionable...

My fiance had a VW Beetle and i couldnt wait to dump the thing 2 years ago. It had so many problems it wasnt funny, small probs and especially with electrical.

Point is its annoying... So back to Honda S2000/Accord and Toyota matrix(2)

Im sure that some of them are no doubt fast, but i would never ever buy a VW or AUDI.

people are getting WAY to carried away with this GTi vs S2000 crap. now we're comparing why one is a sports car and one isn't. As well as mods vs mods, and who knows what else we can throw into the mix.

Let's get back to the point.

cravnpup posted this simply saying "look at what these foolish people are saying about the S2000". He was trying to DEFEND the S2000. And the topic he referred to was the MODDED GTi vs the STOCK S2000. not stock vs stock.

So enough of this petty crap back and forth. Let's get back onto the topic. This is not a "which is better" or "which is more sporty" or "which is more reliable" or whatever thread.

Saying you can win in the Twisties is pretty gay. Expecially considering that most drivers cannot push a car the the limit.

??????? And bragging about going fast in a straight line isn't?

Most people can't launch a car properly either, now can they?

The first time you truly push this car around a track your opinion will change.
