A buddy of mine and I were on our way home on a favorite stretch of road of mine and I came up rather quickly on a 225/hp TT. He was alone in the car and was behind another car and I slowed as I approached him. He saw me and immediately made a STUPID illegal pass right before a blind corner. I waited until we were around the corner and the line was broken and I passed and hit it. I reeled him in rather quickly and gave my car a little shuffle to let him know that not only was I right on him...but my car had plenty left. He kinda sneered as we came to a stop sign; right after the stop sign it splits into two lanes in each direction. It was clear by the way that he pulled away from the stop sign so slowly that he wanted to run. I got up close behind him at about 5 mph. Right as the road split, he hit it, without waiting for me to get even. By the end of 2nd I was 1/2 a nose ahead and as I threw it into third, he got to hear my tires give a loud, taunting chirp as I screamed ahead. After I was about 3 cars ahead and pulling hard, he shut it down....

No power shifting involved. I have run against a couple other S2k's and pulled slightly. Perhaps I just have an especially well manufactured car like Sev. Also, it could be your tires. I have recently installed Kumho's (btw, I dont like their handling characteristics all that much) and they are much noisier than the OEM S02's. However, I could always get a decent scratch out of 2nd with my OEM S02's...
