TT Rx7
Okay, perhaps this should be a new thread but I just found this on the RX8 forums that featured the all new RX8. The Tsukuba battle was an interestingly good watch as it featured the S2000 driven by the old-man Gan-San.
Although I really doubt the RX8 was fully broken in, nevertheless the S2000 did outpower it on the straightaway from behind which surprised me since the S2k is a torqueless car.
During a very crude example of when I mentioned about a theoretical N/A FD in a earlier post, well I guess this RX8 would've been a better example since stat-wise, both the RX8 and the S2k are very similar in some of their features.
Although future battles by the Best Motoring boys will result in much different endings, this is another reason to be proud of the S2000.
Take the time and download this quickly before it goes down guys, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Here's the link.

Let's also not forget that Gansan, if not the best driver in the group on street tires (and he may be), is usually the most aggressive. This is the same guy that beat the S2000 while driving the RSX-R. So it wasn't surprising to see him walk away while in the S2000.
I must say though that I was surprised to see all the cars pull by the RX-8 on the straightaways with relative ease. We know the later model S2000s are making a bit more power than the early models, but the RSX-R drove right by it too. Perhaps it had the early model problems of the variable intake manifold not working right, because it looked down on power.

I'd like to see a rematch of the RX8 again, perhaps like UL mentioned that there were some bugs to work out still. I think it did great despite its final standing at Tsukuba.
Perhaps Dori Dori needs to take a spin with the RX8 the next time around and see what else it can do. I'm certain that the 8's potential is a bit higher than this vid would otherwise demonstrate.

What alot of people dont realize is Mazda had to slow the RX-7 down to pass emissions. What I mean is heavily restrick the airflow all the way from the crappy airbox and tiny intercooler, to 2 cats that act like the Boston Strangler. All you have to do is fully un-cork it and it will yeild at least 120+ rwhp and only cost about $2500 or less to do. Now where else can you get 120+ rwhp for $2500?

Prior to this, with the exact same setup but a highflow cat instead of a midpipe i had 266 rwhp.
Later.
