I never raced a S2K when my RX7 was stock but know the RX7 is a little quicker in all handling and acceleration categories. Looks like this S2K got a good launch and helped it win to 60. Also, that7 has larger rims which slow it down some. No excuses though, the S2K won when he let off so nice kill. If you would have stayed into it until 120 or so it would have pulled by pretty quickly - what were the FDs mods? Stock RX7 numbers are 0-50 in 4.9-5.2 secs and 1/4 in 13.5-13.9 at about 100 mph - all depends on driver and conditions. Modified they get pretty sick.

The Rx7 had a poor driver. The RX7's pull on S2000's easily. They run low 13's stock. On a perfect launch, S2000's stock are barley in the 13's. This would be equivalant in time difference to an S2000 racing a GSR. I lost to a slightly modded FD, but I did have a good launch, and he pulled on me after 80 really hard.

TT Rx7's are in the next class of sports car just above our S2000's. They are classed above us in SCCA auto-x too. The ONLY negatives I know of are reliability, a little "turbo-surprise" (not as easy to handle when it hits in a turn), and too expensive when they were new. Kwikrx7 has it right. Besides, what street driver left one stock?

I think 80% of all 3rd gen RX7s are now modified to some degree. I left mine stock until my coolant seals let loose at 60K and had to get a new engine - now I'm at 380 rwhp and climbing - modding these cars is addicting because you can do so many things to get more power. Reliability is an issue until you replace all the things that give you problems - and when heavily modded, you HAVE to have good tuning or BOOM

So I talked to my friend a few days ago and he said that he found out that he was running on one rotor?!? I'm not familiar with Rx7's, but I know if it was my car I would hope I would know my cars performance compared to running on one rotor and running normal. He said he wants another run when his car gets out of the shop! I have a feeling he's going to beat me! Ill post another one when we do it again. And Ill make it a longer race just so everyone see's how he leaves me on high end!

Stock for stock the S2K OWNS the ancient dinosaur RX7. The only one that will say otherwise are not familiar with the S2k or used RX7 owners that can't afford to upgrade to newer better cars. so they have to pump up the numbers and performance of their decaying dinosaur mobile.
