Now that my '02 is completely broken in (4500 mi), I've had the pleasure of going up against some other metal--some respectable and some not so respectable.... here's the results.

Raced against a coworkers stock S4. Dead even from a stop to 80 and from ~25mph up to 100+ (she, uh, doesn't exactly know how to launch, so I had no problem from a standstill).

Another buddy of mine has a chipped S4. Absolutely no contest. From any gear at any speed he pulls cleanly away. (19 lbs of boost--hard for the little 4 banger to compete with that).

Silverado truck. Don't know which model V8 was, but after playing with him a bit (it's easy to make the S2000 sound like it's working hard at half throttle) and making him think he's tough crap, I wiped him out completely through the Geary tunnnel in SF. Not much of a contest, but the fact that I led him to believe that he was edging me out through the previous lights made it a lot of fun when I left him for dead.

GSXR 600--not much of a contest if the squid was really racing...I've smoked better cars than the S2000 on my old school FZR 600. The fact that he was doing a wheelie up to about 60 meant that he wasn't exactly accelerating as fast as he could, but I respectably hung in there--that is, until his front end came down and he saw me in his rearview mirrors--then he was gone..

Chipped A4 1.8t. They pulled a car length until I hit about 7500 in 1st. Then I pulled cleanly away.

No awesome kills here, but I've been taking it easy on the virgin engine until recently.

 

You'll get faster as you rack up the miles. The car doesn't reach it's peak untill 15k-20k miles.
