Default Why is it that...

Every modded WRX wants to call me out? I just washed/waxed my car and the first WRX that appeared to have at least an exhaust wanted a piece of me?

A white one jumped ahead and came back a few times, revving on me on the freeway. This guy wouldn't leave me alone. I sped up from 55 to 60 (to pass the car in front) and as soon as I changed lanes, he downshifts and takes off. After noticing that I didn't do much except pass a car, he dropped back, revved on me again. WTF.

Okay, he looks at me wanting to get a piece so I finally gave in and dropped a few gears, we both went at it... no big deal. It wasn't modded enough to take me out. I walked it steadily to 105, put about 3-4 lengths and shut down. He flies by and I never see it again since my off ramp was coming up.

I guess owning an S2000 comes with this kind of experiences. I've got my ass handed to me by one who put 5 lengths on me between 50 and 90mph, must've been modded to hell and even that WRX driver called me out. I've yet to actually "call" a WRX out.

Just flip him off and drive normally, if you don't want to race.

Hehe, I'm not that sort of guy... unless he blatantly cuts me off and flips me off.

Racing turbo-powered cars are a gamble to me (I've learned not to underestimate the budget of a few drivers) but I gave it a shot despite knowing that he did some kind of exhaust mod. I got lucky and found that the power wasn't too far off of a normal WRX since I ended up walking it.

It's almost like the drivers of other cars want to take a shot at the S2000 to try and gauge how fast their ride is, kind of like a benchmark. Even if the WRX hung in with me side by side, I'd still walk away smiling that I matched the power liter for liter without boost. What can I say, I'm a good loser, but a very bad winner.

Yeah. I guess it may soon demand that I "up" the ante a bit, all in good time.
