LOL.. lovely it only goes to 85.. this reminds me of my friends thunderbird.. it was back in the 80's also.. speedo only goes up to 85.. and my friends shaggin wagon.. (80 something chevy station wagon) again.. that car's display only goes up to 85..
my question now is.. how do u now how fast ur going if that car hauls ass?? and if it hauls that much ass.. how come they never added a new speedo in that had more mph's knowin that the car was capable of doing more then 130+
but hey.. a fast car is a fast car.. looks kinda ugly =I

This isn't my car, but my '01 Regal runs mid/low 13s at 105mph.
wow I must say that I am very suprised that not too many people on here have heard of buick GN
pretty much one of the fastest cars of the 80s
they came from the factory with 245hp and 360ft/lbs
all auto transmissions 200R4
pretty much was built from the factory for drag racing
seats 5 people every option on the planet available including T-tops
very comfortable ride(Used to own one) rediculously fast car
stock times are
0-60 4.9s
1/4 13.8-14.2
this is probably the most easily modded and cheapest mod wise of any car on the planet to get it to move
for $2 you can hit 12s
for about $1000 you can go 11s
$2K 10s
some people are in 9s on stock engine
anything after that is money
the horsepower on these cars arent as nearly impressive as the torque that comes with it
it originated back in 84 I think through 85 these were considered hot air buicks
86-7 is intercooler these are the fastest around, this vehicle was actually cancelled by GM because it was beating the corvette in racing so bad and the corvette costed an extra 15K more at the time
so it was stricken from the list
but before it was gone there were 547 GNX which were made at the end of 1987
they were special optioned GNs with accessories, better turbo, intercooler, trans more hp and tq
these are a collector item and are probably worth around 40K right now
back in 1989, the motor was pulled back out from hiding, it was gone over and revised and all the small problems were fixed, it was fitted with a different turbo and larger intercooler, it was also matched with a modified 200R4 trans and higher stall converter
and these were placed into a trans am body
it was fitted with special larger disc brakes all around 12" up front and 11.7" in back
very lightweight aluminum wheels, boost gauge etc
1LE handling package etc
it was named the 1989 Pontiac TTA pace car
there are only 1555 of these made and I own one of them (traded my buick for it)
it is still to this day the fastest trans am ever made, reaching speeds at indy in excess of 172mph in bone stock trim, its also the only pace car to go to indy without any modifications
it also has some of the best braking and handling on the planet
it was the fastest car up until the release of the 1990 Corvette ZR1

and 1/4 between 13.2-13.6
