Default Z06 vs STi

Last night we went out to get something to eat at one of our favorite restaurants. Our buddy who has an STi works there, we talked to him a bit and he said he'd like to run our Z06. We were like ok, when you get off work we'll still be out. He has a turboback exhaust, intake and ecutek. He said it made 380 whp, I dont know about thats but he's pretty cool so I didnt argue, I figured if he does we'll se it when we run. Well almost 2 hrs later we see him out, he pulls over and we stand around and bs for a while. It was getting late so we decide to leave. We pull into the far lane (2 lane road) my wife was driving. He pulls up next to us and we cruise next to eachother for a couple seconds. He punches it and pulls about 2 cars, my wife floors it and stops his pull even though we were spinning, shifts to 2nd and just continues spinning we werent gaining any, I was thinking ok maybe he is faster. Well, once we got traction we blew by him pretty good. Only took it to mid 3rd and already had put 2-3 cars on him. We ran another time from 2nd gear roll and even spinnning for a bit we managed to put 2 cars on him pretty quick (mid 3rd again)

His car is definitely quicker, but the Z06 is a beast, if we were on drag radials it would have no chance. we were actually thinking the Evo is a better race for the Z06. It holds off the Z06 a lot better than the STi did. I'll have to run him in my Evo and see.

Good run Quik! He would have to do a lot to keep up with the Z. He's not there yet .

Yeah, considering what I have done to the Evo and the Z06 still pulls it

No way that sti is 380 whp with those mods. 380 crank is still hard to believe, esp if you are faster by comparison in the evo. 300 whp would be my guess.

Nice runs

Are the maintenace costs a lot more on the zo6 than the evo? prolly so, just thought i'd ask.

Where do ya finda girl that drives like that? (dont tell my wife I asked )

Good kill, but as we discussed already in the pm there's no way that he's making 380awhp. The STi needs a turbo upgrade for that kind of power. IF he was making 380awhp, he would've kept up with the Z06 pretty good at least up to 120ish.

Yeah I know hes not at those power levels, but I dont argue with him. You could tell he was pretty disappointed with his car after the run.

Lol, my wife is always down to run, matter of fact its almost 5am, were just getting home from trying to find some races There was another Z06, 350 on spray and TT 300Z wanting to run us tonight. We actually lowered the tire pressure to 24lbs, I think Ive seen 20 is ideal, but we still had/wanted to drive on them for a bit. Anyways we launched a couple times, wow huge difference. Obviosuly it still spun in 1st but not as bad and after it grabbed it took off, usually shifting to 2nd it would continue spinning, well it didnt, just a little scratch and it grabbed. If we ran the STi with it getting traction like that it would have been ugly

Dude, let us know how those races go! And yes, putting drag radials on the car is a world of difference. You should rematch the guy in the STI with your EVO. I bet he'd feel even more stupid.

Yeah, when we went out last night, they had a meeting spot and that one was boroken up, then the second one the cops pinned everyone in and gave them tickets/popped their hoods and all that. We were still trying to find out where the runs were by then so no one ended up running.

We did have some runs onthe freeway though. A few highly modded civics and a TL were heading to the next "spot" and wanted to see how they could fare. Needless to say, the only one that was ever ahead of me was the one doing the ricer fly-by and I still kicked his @$$.

All in all, I've been itching for some runs. The time I've got some worthy contenders, the heat is too high. Oh well, maybe next time.

BTW, hubby and I actually met racing and I let him beat me. Now look at us
