Default 01 AP1 or 04 AP2?

Looking at purchasing another S2000. I sold my last one a few years ago.

Looking at an '01 Red AP1 with 66k on it. Mint condition.

Also looking at 04 AP2 Suzuka with 80k on it. Needs a rocker panel replaced (About 6 inch rash from curb?), has ASA black on chrome lip wheels, AP1 type front lip...

BOTH cars are at $10,500 for me.

The car will be my ONLY vehicle, driven all year round.

I am favoring the AP2 because of the glass back window, newer car, nicer interior and the body work is no big deal.

However.. I lean towards the AP1 because of the mileage and lack of CDV.

What should I do?!?!?

Thanks!

That's a good price. I'd say the Ap2 -- if it's going to be your only car and driven year-round, it'll be more comfortable overall and less oil-burning.

i say AP2 as well. I'm in somewhat similar situation and I would rather go with the mint AP1 with low miles than a banged up AP2 for the same price.

It sounds like that AP2 has been beat on pretty hard....which may be why they price is so low. I'd rather have a mint AP1 over a beat AP2 any day. If you want an AP2, I would keep looking as well.

I'd prefer the AP1, the only thing is that rear plastic window...honestly, that's the only thing that really bugs me about my car (model year 2000).

Easy fix though. $500 for a new top with glass window and then install cost or do it yourself.

I say definitely go with the AP1. Wouldn't want to get an AP2 that was beat up and get it just becuase it is newer.

The AP2 is mint except for the dent/rash on the rocker panel. The interior is great, the rest of the car is great.

Everything is stock on it other than that wheels and AP1 style lip.
