01 Clutch service done, results:
After my dealers 3 day tranny drop and insertion of a new clutch plate per the Honda release, I drove my S2000 home today to hear that the loud rattle at 4K RPM is still there. It has not changed one bit. The dealer even noted this. He tried to say the Honda story "Well, Honda has stated that the tranny is very loud and we must deal with this"... I then told him that I had a 2000 S2000 for over a year and put 6K miles on it without this loud rattle. I admit that my 2000's tranny was loud in operation, but it did not have a very loud rattling noise in the prime RPM spot for normal driving. He told me that if I was not satisfied that I should bring the S2K in when the region rep visits their shop. I DID have then check all heat shields and pull the #4 spark plug and look at it.
I'm planning on having the region guy take a look at it.
I apologize to the people on this list who I had made statements to in the past about the tranny problem being in your heads or a matter of poor driving. While I never had any problems in my 2000, my 2001 with 600 miles on it sure sounds like its grinding coffee. I however have not had any 1st to 2nd grinding problems.

Dick Hannah in Vancouver. they did the clutch work without a problem but I also bought the S2000 from them and only have 600 miles on it which probably helped the process along. The Service department was pretty good about the whole thing.
