I got my 01 last Nov (around the 15th I think) and still had about 1500 miles of driving before the first snow fall - about 3 weeks. Though I had a 00 before that.

Ultimately, I think it's going to be more a matter of if you like the updates in the '02 (which I personally, don't care too much for).

Well, my yellow S2K is here today. I went to see it and it have two small door dings in the rear fenders. You can't really see it unless you really look at it in the light, but I thought it had to be perfect. The dealer said they will fix it tomorrow. I haven't paid for the car yet, just a deposit. Should I just say not take it and get a 2002 or just take this one. Are these paintless dents easily removed without messing the paint up?

Well given the new rear glass window... I would wait for the 2002.

I would bail out and get a 2002. The glass rear window in the top will last a lot longer and be worth it.

I'm in the same boat, local dealer has a 01' white w/red. I am waiting for a 02' just for the back window, I think you should bail since you are in DC.

You have to consider that they're sure to increase prices for 02's. A new model year will also be an excuse for the dealer to mark them up even more - especially on the new colors. There may be an advantage in waiting though, because dealers will want to get rid of their 01 stock A.S.A.P., and you'll probably be able to get a good deal on one of those.

Heck, I'm thinking of waiting to get the '03 S2000...they will probably have increased power (low-end torque??) to keep up with the changes to the new BMW Z3 and the brand new Nissan Z that will be out then...

Ok, maybe not...I'll just buy one this fall and trade in my 2002 s2k for a 2003 next year...but somehow I just feel like I'm putting a downpayment on an '89 SC MR2 or an '82 Corvette...

Regardless of what happens, a year of s2k smiles will make me forget, no doubt...

Hmmm...not sure about getting a good deal on the 01s Here in Canada, dealers are still charging a premium for the 01 models. It seems like they are really not interested in shifting them. Trust me...ask Dogman..im sure he can vouch for this!
