'03 Roof
Thanks Andy for clarifying. I've only ever taken the top down once since I took possession of the car two weeks ago, and that was just the other night I wanted to see if it would make a difference to the clicking noise....it did not, however. No problems lowering or raising the roof with nothing catching the striker.
I'm wondering if some form of lubrication (maybe some WD 40) on the struts would make a difference. Has anyone experimented with this type of solution? I'm a little worried about staining the inside of the roof though.
Thanks

It's a tough call as it occurs on the driver's side and only when driving so it is virtually impossible to play around with it to pinpoint the exact location as one is trying to concentrate on the road.
The top on my '02 has an annoying clicking noise as well. It's coming from the bar directly above the driver's head. And it only does it when the temp is below 50. The dealer couldn't figure out what to do about it. They were supposed to contact Honda for advice, but of course they never got back to me.

Just wondering, does it still make the noise with a passenger aboard? I was thinking that you might get a friend to ride along to try to pinpoint where the sound is coming from while you drive the car. As someone who used to work for car dealers and has, too many times, been given the unenviable task of trying to track down some oddball and intermittent noise, I can tell you that these things don't alway come from where they "seem" to come from. An extra set of eyes and ears might go a long way toward finding your problem.
Good luck & Drive Safe,
Steve R.
I picked up my 03 3 weeks ago. I have 100 miles on it, and I noticed the same thing just above my left ear when I drive. Kind of a high pitched squeak - very annoying. It "felt" like a cold weather issue, and was going to ignore it until spring.
