Default The 04-06 s2000 key design could a blank verison

Hi everyone. Just wondering if it was possible to get an 04-06 key and get it cut and programmed to work with an 02 s2000. I know that transponder can be a pain in the ass with the antitheft theft setup. I just think the design of the newer keys for the ap2's are more deserving of this car. The ap1 keys look like basic honda keys used to confuse it with my ex's civic keys . Thanks.

Mike

a few have made them by cutting the chip out of the AP1 key and putting it under the silver panel of the new key.

You would need to replace the cylinder(s) too. The shape of the key even uncut is totally different.

Honda makes a rekeying kit for our car. The MY04 + set costs about 500. It includes three keys and 5 locks. The door lock in the MY02- cars are round and the MY04+ cars are oval. So you need to modify the door handles to get them to fit.

I have already swap these out on my car. The ignition is the only one that I have yet to install. This requires you drill out the bolts to swap out the lock. At that point the system needs to be programed by the dealer.
