Default 04 BUmper Conversion complete

ok on sunday my cousin and i installed the 04 bumper on my 02 SDeuce. it was a pain in the ass, but worth it. everything went smooth, no problems at all, except that to get the fender splash guards off you have to take off the tire, which really isn't hard, unless you're car is dropped and the only jacks you have are too big to fit under. the only thing i recommend getting is new clips to hold the splash guards in, as a bunch of mine broke. otherwise this is very easy, no fabrication involved. and shout out to hardtopguy.com. all my stuff showed up quick and in great condition, i recommend them

nice.

I want to do the upgrade so bad but I can't justify shipping that cost $80.00 in order for me to get the savings price from Hard top guy. I wish there was a cheaper way.

Dont forget to trim the reinforcement bar that supports your bumper.

You need to shave the corners down on both sides, or you will get spider web cracks on your bumper in 2-3 months.

I didn't shave mine and I've been going for about a year with no cracks. I just shaved the actual bumper unit until it fit.

Yeah it's strange. I did the conversion on my 01 and didn't shave anything.. I had the car for about 4-5 months and no spider web cracks.. I did the conversion again when I got my '02 didn't bother to shave the support beam down because it worked fine on my ;01 and after a few months I started to see them form. Maybe there's a difference in the 00-01's and 02-03's, I'm not sure. But anyone who PM's me about how to do the conversion I always tell them about it. You can find a DIY for the front end conversion in my sig.

Do a search for 'nipple' or 'nipples' and something should come up. Other members have had the same happen to them. I would shave/grind it down just to be safe.
