A salesman at my local Honda dealer told me MY '04 is the last one for the S2000, and that it will be discontinued. Do you know if this is true? And if so WHY??

This has been tossed around before. Search for it.

To sum it up, it would be a very bad decision for Honda to discontinue a car that they just spent thousands if not hundreds of thousands to millions redesigning with a new engine, suspension, body panels, and such.

 

I don't know if they plan on discontinuing the car, (I seriously doubt it) but I would be very happy if they did, as it would no doubt increase the resale value of the car over time.

 

Yes, for sure. The salesmen also said the same thing in 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003. I'm SURE it will happen in 2004

 

When do the '05's come out?

 

My friend's dad is a Honda regional Manager, and he said there are talks about discontnuing the s2000... That if in fact the '05 is made, it will be the last year of the car...

 

They should be out with the first '05s in other models/manufacturers since it will probably be a basic rehash of the '04.

 

i thought there was already some official word from honda that the MY05 S2000 will be released with no changes from '04?

 

Usually manufacturers release their new models in the September/October timeframe.
