my headlights are on every minute I am driving my S. Too many close calls with people not seeing my little black car.. I'm sure running lights have helped avoid even more encounters.

^^^ I like DRL as well. My Subaru had them as well. IMO, they are much safer because other cars are most likely to see you. Also, insurance takes them into consideration.

What ins doesnt know wont hurt me? That fuse must have popped out in the collision?!?!? !Hahahaaa

My car is bright yellow. If I had a darker color I would have thought twice about disableing them. Also, I always run my headlights on single laners and gloomy days.

i used to have a habit of running my headlights on when i had my 03 miata. i kept doing it until the 9006's that i installed burned out really quickly...
i stopped running around with my headlights on in the s2000 and just left the lighting to DRL in the morning, since i suspect that HID lights also have burning hours. i dont want to burn thru my lights too quickly.
as for the color thing, the miata i used to have was bright ass red. cars/SUVs/big rigs would cut me off coz theyd miss that i was there. i found that it happened less when i left my headlights on.
but anyway, lemme know if the bright yellowness deters ppl from cutting you off.

I think DRL is a nice feature. It's too bad Honda didn't provide an off switch though. My wife's Volvo has DRL, but it can be defeated if you like.

Try turning your key once in the ignition ,pull up the hand brake until it clicks once, now turn the key all the way and then push the start button. Works for the celica but I have never tried it on the S2000.
