I have the solution for all DRL haters. Unplug the 10 wire connector from the DRL control module under the driver side dash closest to the center. Use a wire tie to secure it to adjacent wire harness. No DRL and no DRL light on instrument cluster. It worked fine for me. If anyone needs pics let me know.

Try turning your key once in the ignition ,pull up the hand brake until it clicks once, now turn the key all the way and then push the start button. Works for the celica but I have never tried it on the S2000.
Nope, the DRLs will come back on as soon as you drop the E-Brake

Reviving, because I found this in a search... I really hate the dull yellow look of the DRLs...

Who has replaced the bulb, and what did you use ?

I don't mind leaving them enabled, but just need a different lighting color... Halogen yellow just looks horrible IMO.

I like my DRL's. Doesn't bother me. Do they not go off though when you put on your parking lights? I have never looked to see.
You could just drive around with your parking lights on if you don't like the DRL's.

I did the same. It sucks because it uses lower wattage so you don't get the full "yellow" effect.

I does look good with highbeams on tho.

Doubt anybody cares, but I really really hate high-beams-lower-voltage DRLs. Lower voltage = dimmer, but a somewhat dimmer light blaring straight into my eyeballs SUCKS. Lexus and GM are major offenders here. Guess I can add Honda now.

IMO, drls are pretty dumb. Parking lights accomplish the same thing PLUS light the taillights as well. OFTEN see drl equipped cars whose drivers seem oblivous to the fact that they really need their taillights on too when it's morning, dusk, foggy, or raining.

I also see many drivers with DRL's forgetting to switch on their actual headlights at night as they see the reflection from the DRL's and think they're on already.

Personally, I could take 'em or leave 'em. Lime several others who have posted I typically run with my headlights anytime visibility is reduced (smoke, fog, rain, etc) or on two laner's.
