Default 06 s2k s05 tires

i cant compare because i dont have the experience but how do the bridgestone on the 06's compare to the older s2k stock tires?

i have heard "bad" things about the older tires and so i want to know how the current tires hold up..

the only thing 'bad' about S02s are their lack of respect for the driver.. they couldn't care less if you know when youre about to spin out or how to drive in the wet

AP2 comes with RE050 tires and AP1 came with S02 tires.

The S02 and RE050 have the same treadwaer rating, and in my estimation about the same amount of grip. The RE050 tires are biased towards understeer. S02s have poor cold grip, and once worn they have issues with rain (very small tread grooves.)

It is tough to get a real world comparison, since they are different rim sizes.

As others have said, the S02 was poor in the wet because of little to no rain channeling. The S03 added more channeling and is a slightly harder compound. (both for AP1 = 16" rim)

The RE050 (AP2 = 17") seems the best of both......soft compound (140 treadwear rating) and rain channels.
