Default 07 S2k with 36k for $22.5 good?

Hello all,

I owned a MY06 GPW S2k back in 06, I got it brand new, had it for about 1.5 years and decided to sell it since I drove it a lot and I got tired of the cramped feeling of the inside. (I'm about 6' tall)

I had an EVO IX at the same time and loved both cars so much... but sold the EVO too about 6 months afterward around the beginning of 08.

So, now its about 4 years later, (I'm 31 yrs old btw) and I'm married with 2 little babies, ages 2 and 1 I went from modding 2 cars at a time to working from home, and just sharing an X5 with my wife... The last car I had, a 2009 TT, which I really liked but I ended up getting rid of about 5 months ago, due to barely driving it. I gotta say the TT is a great car, awesome seats, very roomy interior (MUCH roomier and comfier than the S2k considering how small it looks), great DSG tranny, awesome 2.0 Turbo, only thing I hated was the FWD, it was terrible. I had a GIAC reflash which gave me 40 WHP and 60 WTQ for just $550:

So, now I have been looking at S2k's again, I miss having a fun car, and the S2k is just that, FUN. Love the gearbox and the motor, its like playing a game. I dont really NEED a car since I just got a small office 20 minute walking distance from my house and I am really trying to save money, but I am really tempted to get a S2k again!!!!!111 What should I do???

I found a 07 with 36k miles, mint condition, at a bmw dealership, Silverstone on Black/Red which is a beautiful color combo imo, for $22,500. Is this a fair/good price?

Do you think I should go for it??? Maybe I can haggle the price down to $18k - $20k?

--- Any input is greatly appreciated.

FWIW last January (as in ~19 months ago) I bought an 06 GPW w/ 32k, for 19.5 in the Bay Area, CA. Now I don't know what your dealership paid @ invoice for it, but you certainly can/should be able to get a better deal.

Also, FWIW, I picked up an '07 about a month ago with 31k on it for $20k. Prices are at premiums during this time of year

If the car is pristine, and unmodified, I think that they are asking a fair price.
These people on here that think: when they are buying the car has a low value and when they are selling the car has a high value are alway commenting on this type of is it worth it post.
I think unmodifed S2000's that are pristine will not only hold their value but will probably go up.

Maybe I should also add that your location may effect the price by as much as 1-2K.
For example, I listed my GPW with less then 4k miles on ebay as a classified Ad for 27K. The listing just ended last week, someone came and agreed on 27K and put a deposit down on it, the next day he called and asked if I'd give the deposit back because he found out that is insurance was twice what he was now paying. I agreed to because I had someone else wanting to come see it and I was already sorry I sold it. In the meantime, the listing ended and I decided not to even offer it to the next guy.
I'm convinced, that I could have gotten 27K for my car. It had three things going for it, low miles, GPW, red and black interior. Everyone that called about the car said the same thing, nice low mileage S2000's are hard to find.

personally i think its on the high side. i picked up an 08 CPO with 22k miles on it, for about 22,500. this was 8 months ago. at the end of the day, get what you want though. you can save $100 here or there, but you dont want to miss out on the car that you want.good luck

hahaha, they are ways too young to ride with me.. The TTS is a very nice ride, but a little too pricey for me since I have many more expenses now..

Golf R is really nice as well.. problem is, the car has a "immature" look to it.. I love the raw feel of the S2k, I want to get back into one.. but just hard to find a good deal these days. Looking for a 06+ low mileage one for under $20k.

By the way, the car already sold, that I Was looking at. It had the OEM front lip and red/black interior so it was real attractive.

Hope you can find another one, man! For a dealer selling the vehicle, it's about normal. I'd haggle down as close to 20k as possible though. I just bought a 07 LBP w/ 16k miles for $19.5, but I'm down south, so CA has a slight premium over us.
