I just took my car into the dealership for the 7500 mile service. $108 later, I looked at the bill and realized that I paid for an oil change and "visual inspection". WTF?

That's a bit ridiculous, in my opinion. If I have the services done elsewhere, could it cause me potential problems down the road regarding warranty claims? Because I think the next service isnt going to be this cheap!
Sorry to learn of this. But it doesn't serve to surprise me as many dealerships, including some Honda dealerships, are quite scandalous. Heck, I once caught a technician at LANCASTER HONDA (Lancaster, California) joyriding in my S2000.

This happened to me a couple of months ago when I hit 7500 miles. I think I may have even been charged $120. There was a whole check list of items they did on top of the oil change, but nothing that really had to be done. Basically, if you ask for the 7500 mile service you will be charged $100+, but if you just ask for an oil change it's $25.
This is what I did - $27 for the oil change and they signed off on the 7500 mi service in the book too. You always have to ask with a dealership...

Wow...my dealer just sent me a coupon for a free oil change and courtesy "visual inspection". I never would have dreamed that it would be worth $108.

Anyone want to take the coupon off my hands for $58...

For another $10.00, I'll throw in the coupon for a free tire rotation!
