Default engine noise and shifting

I am just wondering what my shifting should feel like and how loud the motor is at the higher RPMs? What is normal and acceptable?

I would really love to meet with another S2K owner locally so he could look and I could compare notes. Not to mention just great to meet another S2K owner.

I am located in York, PA.

PM me if you can and are willing to help.

You should try posting in your local forums..You should have no problems shifting your car at 5000 RPM until it's fully warmed up at which time you should be able to shift it at 8200 or 8900 depending on the year Do not run over 5500 RPM the first 600 miles.
I generally shift around 3500-4000 while trying to be somewhat fuel conservative, I try to save the above VTEC 6000+RPM for open roads, track and autocrossing.(Not always successfully)

Take a look at the FAQ's in the 'Technical' section at the top of the "Under the Hood" forum for lots of great info. OH yeah and READ YOUR OWNERS MANUAL!!!
Enjoy!
Mike

PA and your nearby areas have one of the more active S2000 centers in the east. You are in or close to the home of Fall Colors. I believe this event is happening right now where I'm sure well over 100 S2000s are gathered. You can see details of this event in the "meets" forum.

Orrrr, check your local SCCA site for the next autocross, S2000s are quite popular and driven with enthusiasm.

How far is York from Pittsburgh? If you don't mind driving to Pittsburgh, I'll meet up with you.

Better yet, you should think about joining the "Allegheny Club" or another S2K club closer to your location. Membership will allow you to meet and socialize with many different owners.
