10W30 oil in the UK
Having read a fair number of posts about the S2k's thirst for oil in the first few thousand miles I have been diligently checking the oil level of my new pride and joy. As expected it dropped which is where I ran into trouble. I live in the UK and have completely failed to find anywhere that sells 10W30 rated oil. I spoke to the garage where I bought the car and they were no help whatsoever (they didn't even know that you weren't supposed to use fully synthetic oil until after 10k). Has anyone else in the UK managed to find a source for 10W30 oil? If not can anyone recommend an alternative?
Finally sorry if someone has already discussed this problem but I had a search and couldn't find anything.

Pop over to the UK forum and try a search.
Short answer, for running in most UK owners use a mineral 10w40 which you can get from Halfords. (Halfords own or Castrol GTX Magnatec.).
You can get proper 10w30, but it's hard to get hold with. One example being Redline 10W30, but that's fully synthetic so not ideal for running in.
There's a faq at the top of the Uk forum that covers this...

It varies a lot what each dealer will put in, but unless you supply it, it won't be 10w30. 10w40 or 5w30 seem most common.
